Fashola Signs N491.9billion Budget

Lagos State’s Governor, Babatunde Fashola yesterday signed the N491.9 billion 2012 Appropriation Bill into law in midst of fuel subsidy protests.

Fashola previously on November 14 2011, presented a budget proposal of N485 billion with an additional N6 billion to accomodate the National Sports Festival to be hosted by the state later this year. Adding that the budget’s component features increased expenditure on tertiary education.

The Lagos State House of Assembly last week approved the appropriation bill, Fashola said the budget would also increase expenditure on youth and women empowerment for greater economic development and social housing.
