In the midst of the current situations in Nigeria, which ranges from fuel subsidy protests to the recent high raise in insecurity. The Greater Accra Police
command of Ghana, has impounded a
truckload of ammunition which was said to
be on its way to Nigeria.
Five people, some of who are
Ghanaians and the two drivers who were Nigerians have
been arrested, Greater Accra
Regional Police Commander, Rose
Bio Atinga confirmed in an
interview with posted on MYJOYONLINE.
The ammunitions included: pump
action guns, double barrelled
guns and an unspecified number
of cartridges, Atinga confirmed.
The truck was impounded
Tuesday at Achimota on its way
Rose Bio Atinga did not reveal
the identities of suspects, except
to say thorough investigations
The most populous African
country is in a turbulent crisis
after local terrorist group with links to Al-Qaeda, Boko
Haram, killed dozens of people in
multiple bombings during the new year.
The country has also been
paralysed by a general nationwide
strike after the FG removed fuel subsidy, causing an increase in fuel prices last week.
