Corruption has being the major cause of Nigeria’s crisis and under-development. The Federal Government are still being controlled like puppets by their various political parties, whose main objective is to suck this country DRY!
On the 1st of January 2012, the dull minded, husband to an illitrate President Goodluck Jonathan, removed subsidy on fuel. This was widely seen as an action ordered by his corrupt political party, the People’s Democratic Party. In 2011, the Federal Government claimed they spent N1.3billion on subsidizing fuel (liars!). For how long will Nigerians live under such deciets!
Unfortunately, the subsidy was removed to the shock of all Nigerians four months earlier than they promised! Causing rapid increase in prices of commodities and transport fares. The Government removed this subsidy earlier than promised, they also excluded it from the 2012 budget proposal in December 2011. What is this money now going to be used for when it has already being excluded from all official budgets?
There are no refineries in the country working at much as 60%, the power supply in the country is very low (not to mention the fact that the PHCN has now being sold to private agencies), the petroleum sector is full of corrupt individuals, the state governments are poor not even working hard enough. But still, they went on to remove the subsidy.
The President however, has said the removal of subsidy was for the benefits of all Nigerians, as it would give the Govt., the revenue to improve each sector (i agree to this, but what will happen to the money they’ve excluded!).
The Nigerian Government needs to be more patriotic to fight corruption, the President needs to make decisions in this country without any interferance from his political party and without being negatively influenced by his ministers too! We (Nigerians) voted for the President, not his minister. He should listen to us and not them in times like this!
“Their should only be politics during and before the election, but after the election is won, the winners should ignore their political differences and try to create a great government for the people”!
