Talk Of The World: BMW Recalls 1.3 milion Cars Worldwide

BMWThe world’s largest premium carmaker, BMW AG, is recalling 1.3milion of its cars for repair worldwide due to possible problem with a battery cable cover in the trunk, the company said on Monday.
The recall would affect both 5- & 6- series BMW, built between 2003 & 2010, the carmaker also said.
“In some remote cases, the battery cable cover in the boot of these vehicles may be incorrectly mounted”, it said. “This can result to electrical system malfunctioning, the vehicle refusing to start, and in some cases, the charring or fire”, the company said, adding that it was not aware of any accidents or injuries to people due to the problem.
BMW said it was writing to car owners. The repair procedure in a BMW partner workshop would take about 30 minutes to an hour. And it would be free of charge for customers.
The recall affects 368,000 cars in America and 293,000 cars in Germany. Another 109,000 cars in Britian and about 102,000 cars in China, BMW said.
