Talk Of Nigeria: President Goodluck Jonathan Orders Attorney-General To Prosecute Subsidy Theives

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan GCFR, has order the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Muhammed Adoke SAN, to prosecute those indicted by the Federal House of Representatives of looting N1.7tr during the subsidy regime. Therefore, The President gave to the AGF, the House of Representatives’ report on the subsidy probe, detailing how N1.7tr was looted by some persons, companies and agencies.
In a swift move, the AGF has said that the report would be handed over to the EFCC for proper investigation.
Among the persons indicted in the report include: the Minister of Petroleum Resources/chairperson of the NNPC, Allison-Maduekwe; the chairman of the PPPRA, Adamu Ali; the Accountant-General of the Federation, Mr. J. O. Utunla. While the indicted agencies include: the NNPC; the PPPRA; the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation; Department of Petroleum Resource; and some other oil companies.
This is the first move made by the President concerning the report and its recommendations, since the probe was completed.
